How we design hotel websites

A great hotel website is an editorial product wrapped around a ruthlessly efficient booking funnel. Here's how we get there.

01

Lead with the property's actual asset

A great hotel website doesn't sell amenities — it sells the specific physical thing the property owns. The room with the ocean view. The 1884 ranch heritage. The basement recording studio. We design around the asset that nobody else can copy.

02

Architect by audience, not by department

Wedding planners, leisure travelers, loyalty members, and event coordinators want different things. We split the navigation so each segment lands on their relevant property in two clicks — without losing the brand voice in transit.

03

Compress the booking funnel where it should be fast

Direct-booking guests need three clicks to a confirmed rate. Wedding planners need a long-form RFQ. We treat each path with its own design discipline so both audiences feel respected.

04

Mobile-first, because that's where discovery happens

Most hotel discovery happens on a phone, in transit, during a moment of inspiration. We design for that screen first and the desktop second — and we don't apologize for it.

Hotel website design questions

The questions GMs, marketing directors, and ownership groups ask before they start a redesign.

Most boutique and single-property hotel redesigns land between $25,000 and $75,000 depending on scope. Multi-property and luxury chain redesigns (Loews, Hard Rock scale) run $100,000+. We work flat-fee, no hourly billing. See our /flat-fee-design page for the framework, or book a call for a property-specific scope.

Discovery and brand audit, information architecture for every audience segment, full UX/UI design across desktop and mobile, editorial photography direction, copywriting collaboration, design-system handoff to the development team (or full Webflow/Next.js build), and post-launch QA. Booking-engine integration (SynXis, OPERA Web Self-Service, etc.) is included as a connection layer; the underlying booking software is the property's existing vendor.

Both. Recent boutique work includes Bisha, El Ganzo, The Blackstone, The London West Hollywood, Brush Creek Ranch, and The Maven. Recent multi-property/chain work includes Loews Hotels (30 properties) and Hard Rock Hotels (30+ properties across four regions). The design language flexes between intimate-editorial and brand-system-rigorous depending on the property.

Single-property redesigns typically take 6–10 weeks from kickoff to launch. Multi-property and luxury brand systems take 12–20 weeks because each property needs its own surface within a consistent shell. We can move faster on Webflow rebuilds where the existing brand and booking flow stay intact.

Yes. I've integrated with SynXis (Sabre), OPERA Web Self-Service, Cloudbeds, and direct OTA feeds. The booking engine is a connection problem, not a design problem — I treat it as part of the IA and design the surrounding experience so it disappears into the flow.

We handle branding directly and direct the photography and copy. We collaborate with established hotel photographers (your existing roster or our recommended directors) and senior hospitality copywriters when the project calls for full editorial production. The design is never the bottleneck.

Two things. First: the booking funnel is the business — every design decision either accelerates or interrupts it, and getting that wrong costs revenue per day. Second: hotels have multiple parallel sales motions (direct, wedding, group, loyalty, F&B, spa) that need to coexist without confusing the brand voice. Most agencies treat hotels like any other ecommerce site and lose the editorial sophistication that makes a luxury property feel like a luxury property.

Designing the property's restaurants as standalone brands? That's a different playbook.

Your hotel deserves a website that sells the property — not just one that books the room.
