The goal of this project was straightforward but ambitious: redesign the Resort at Pedregal website to reflect its status as one of the most luxurious destinations in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The challenge was not just to make the site beautiful but to make it effective—something that would elevate the brand, engage users, and simplify the booking process. The site had to communicate exclusivity while remaining accessible to a diverse audience of high-end travelers.
We focused on the fundamentals: wireframes to define structure, high-fidelity mockups to shape the aesthetic, and interactive prototypes to test usability. By collaborating closely with the client’s development team, we ensured every decision translated seamlessly into the final product. The prototypes became a critical part of the process, helping us refine the experience before the first line of code was written.
Target Audience
The Resort at Pedregal attracts a specific kind of traveler—people who want more than a vacation; they want an experience. Located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it’s a destination for those seeking the pinnacle of luxury. That includes couples on their honeymoons, families looking for a sophisticated escape, and travelers who want the kind of resort where “exclusive” is more than just a marketing term. These people don’t just expect seamless functionality; they demand it.
But the audience doesn’t stop there. The site also needed to work for event planners—people organizing weddings, retreats, or even corporate getaways. They’re looking for a venue that can impress and deliver. The redesign had to work for all of these audiences without feeling generic, creating a clear and tailored experience that respected their time and expectations.
Constraints
Showcasing Unique Accommodations: Every villa and room at the Resort at Pedregal has something special to offer, whether it’s a private pool or a view that takes your breath away. The site had to capture these details while keeping the user experience streamlined.
Luxury Branding: Pedregal isn’t a place you stumble upon; it’s a place you aspire to visit. The website had to reflect that. Every detail, from typography to imagery, needed to communicate the resort’s unmatched quality and attention to detail.
Integrating Services: The resort isn’t just about staying in a beautiful room—it’s about the entire experience. The site needed to make booking spa treatments, fine dining, and private excursions as intuitive as booking the room itself.
Responsiveness: These days, most users will first encounter the site on their phones. The design couldn’t just work on mobile; it had to shine. That meant making sure every interaction felt smooth, no matter the device.
